چکیده

This paper describes an efficient algorithm to determine whether an arbitrary graph G can be embedded in the plane. The algorithm may be viewed as an iterative version of a method originally proposed by Auslander and Parter and correctly formulated by Goldstein. The algorithm uses depth-first search and has O(V) time and space bounds, where V is the number of vertices in G. An ALGOS implementation of the algorithm successfully tested graphs with as many as 900 vertices in less than 12 seconds.

Dynamic language model adaptation using presentation slides for lecture speech recognition

We propose a dynamic language model adaptation method that uses the temporal information from lecture slides for lecture speech recognition. The proposed method consists of two steps. First, the language model is adapted with the text information extracted from all the slides of a given lecture. Next, the text information of a given slide is extracted based on temporal information and used for ...

Multiscript - an online student-teacher collaboration platform for classroom lectures

Online collaboration on lecture contents has gained much popularity, over the few decades, due to its potential to enhance the learning experience. We propose a novel idea of an online collaboration platform, called Multiscript (MS), for the students and the teacher, on classroom lectures. MS combines two online learning approaches into a single collaboration platform. One approach, called outs...

Automatic Explanation Spot Estimation Method Targeted at Text and Figures in Lecture Slides

Because of the spread of the Internet in recent years, e-learning, which is a form of learning through the Internet, has been used in school education. Many lecture videos delivered at The Open University of Japan show lecturers and lecture slides alternately. In such video style, it is hard to understand where on the slide the lecturer is explaining. In this paper, we examined methods to autom...

Automated Hypermedia Authoring for Individualized Learning

This paper presents an automated system for authoring of hypermedia lecture recordings. We revised our previous work on lectures indexation. Our original method of lectures indexation needed a human interaction and was not feasible for large amount of lectures. We developed a system which utilizes Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to automatically extract the keywords from the lecture slides ...

WEB Based Lecture Notes - The LENO Approach

A system for production of WEB based teaching material is described. The system, called LENO, takes its starting point in the production of slides, but in its current form it covers a broader need. We argue that a dedicated lecture notes system for the WEB is preferable to a more general presentation tools, such as Powerpoint. LENO is based on single sourcing ideas in order to avoid duplication...
